Mission and objectives

Supporting underprivileged and disadvantaged families in rural communities in developing countries to improve their living conditions and develop themselves through self-reliance and sustainable activities. Self-reliance makes people economically independent.

JFE works in close cooperation with her sister organisations in West Africa and The Netherlands. The latter assists with checking and validating of project applications/ proposals with the reality in the beneficiary communities to permit value addition and submission of fundable proposals to donors. A list of criteria have been established to enable the sister organisations to determine priority proposals or requests that should be prepared for implementation.

JFE is principally engaged in fundraising and knowledge gathering and sharing. Each opportunity that emerges is well examined in conjunction with the available resources by the Board Members before engagement decision is taken.

In addition to the Board of Directors, JFE is assisted by advisers and experts in various fields. Our operating costs are limited to an absolute minimum because we mainly work with volunteers.

Worldwide, there are 1.5 billion people without drinking water. If every citizen from the most prosperous countries helps one of these fellow citizens to get water, the Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations can be reached.

Also, the objectives of the Flemish Partnership Water for Development (VPWvO) to reduce the number of people who do not have access to clean water by half, was endorsed by us.

We are on our course! Have you already decided to help us?
