Our mission & goals

Supporting disadvantaged and neglected families in rural areas who want to improve their living conditions by developing themselves, based on self-reliance and sustainability. Self-reliance makes people economically independent.

Jappaleh Foundation Africa (JFA) is mainly responsible for checking the project applications and proposals that are submitted. In close consultation with Jappaleh Foundation Europe, JFA draws up the list of priorities. This list of priorities is drawn up on the basis of criteria used by us, such as the number of people that can be reached, location, whether or not water is available, sustainability and of course our financial situation at that time.

Our operating costs are kept to an absolute minimum because we mainly work with volunteers, both in Europe and in Africa. Travel and accommodation costs each for own account.

Worldwide there are 1.5 billion people who do not have drinking water. If every citizen from the most prosperous countries helps one of these fellow citizens in water, the Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations can be achieved globally.

We also endorsed the objective of the Flemish Partnership Water for Development to help reduce the number of people who do not have access to pure water by half.

We are working on these objectives, have you already decided to help us?
