Practice has taught us that to achieve our long-term goals, it is best to work out the following programme in different villages:

Jappaleh Foundation wants to build a (water) pump in areas where women and girls have to walk several kilometres to fetch water. In addition, we want to use the water that is thus continuously available to set up a large-scale ‘vegetable garden project’ (employment) so that the inhabitants of these villages have enough food for their own consumption and can sell part of the harvest so that they also have an income (economy). Those involved will be trained by our foundation in The Gambia in how to work the land, grow and cultivate vegetables and maintain the water pump.

Malaria claims more victims than AIDS or tuberculosis in Africa. Every minute, a child dies of malaria. Every year, over 214 million people fall ill and 550,000 die from malaria. African children are particularly affected. About half of the world’s population is at risk of being infected with malaria. Especially in the poorest countries. In Africa, malaria takes a huge economic toll of US$12 billion a year. Children under five and pregnant women are most at risk of falling ill and dying from malaria.

The deadly form of malaria is most common in Africa. Malaria is caused by a parasite and can only be transmitted from person to person through an Anopheles mosquito. Malaria is fortunately preventable and curable.

There are plans to start a drug factory in Africa to make a plant-based anti-malaria drug, which will be distributed across West Africa.

This means we will need 1,000 hectares of land and some farmer organisations to plant and maintain these plants. A factory, a quality control laboratory and a distribution centre will also need to be built.

This again brings employment (income) to a large number of farmers but also benefits their health. We will apply for subsidies from all possible bodies, companies, service clubs, etc. We will undertake the necessary activities to obtain sponsors/donors and subsidies for this. We will also ensure the necessary publicity for our projects.
